Title/Theme: Health Promotion Core Competency, Innovations and Health Literacy

Overview:
Asia Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health Collaborating Centres for Health Promotion (APACPH CCHP) will co-host this pre-conference workshop with Thailand Ministry of Public and Health and Taiwan Health Promotion Administration, Department of Health and Welfare. This pre-conference workshop will not only provide key principles for health promotion core competencies with a focus on health planning, implementation, and evaluation; partnership building; and diversity and inclusiveness but also incorporate health promotion innovations, such as digital health and information and communications technologies (ICTs), as well as health literacy into the main theme of the workshop.
 
This workshop intends to bring together health promotion experts from Asia-Pacific countries including Thailand, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, and Taiwan to talk about health promotion core competencies and to share the best practice experiences and/or lessons learned from these countries. The workshop will focus on three key health promotion core competencies; each of them will be followed by a country case sharing to illustrate how the given core competencies are applied in the real world setting.
 
Intended Audience: This workshop is designed for health promotion professionals, researchers, students who are interested in learning more about principles and real-world experiences for the three key health promotion core competencies, as well as acquiring the latest knowledge and development in the areas of health promotion innovation and health literacy.
 
Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand health promotion core competencies and how they are manifested in real world cases.
  2. Acquire up-to-date knowledge and development in health promotion, innovation, and health literacy.
  3. Build networking skills among trainees, new and experienced researchers, and practitioners.
