CCHP Strengthens Regional Collaboration through Courtesy Visit to Universiti Malaya
The Collaborating Centres for Health Promotion (CCHP) conducted an official courtesy visit to Universiti Malaya (UM) on 30 January 2026. The visit, held at the UM Chancellery, was led by CCHP Director Dr. Hung-Yi Chiou and accompanied by CCHP Chief Executive Officer Dr. Betty Ya-Wen Chiu.
Over the past decade, CCHP’s sustained efforts and active engagement have established a collaborative network comprising 19 institutions across 9 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Within this network, UM serves a pivotal role as the headquarters of the APACPH Secretariat and the Editorial Office of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Public Health (APJPH), providing essential institutional support not only for APACPH but also for advancing CCHP’s mission to promote health promotion principles and evidence-based practice.
During the visit, discussions focused on sustaining institutional support, expanding health promotion training initiatives, and strengthening regional leadership networks within the CCHP framework. The engagement reaffirmed UM’s strategic importance within the CCHP network and highlighted the value of strong institutional partnerships in building resilient health promotion capacity across the region.
Looking ahead, CCHP remains committed to deepening collaboration with UM and other partners across its Asia-Pacific network, jointly addressing the region’s evolving public health challenges.
